Don't worry, we will exchange the first swap for free. If we have the size in stock we will get this on the way to ASAP. But if we need to make the ring the normal 2-8 week production period may apply on the exchange.

    Damascus steel took its name from blades the crusaders came up against and couldn't match — patterned right through, and by every account they carried home, better than anything they'd brought with them. The method was lost for centuries before anyone worked it out again. This one's called The Sword because that's where the steel's entire reputation came from.

    Caring for your ring

    A little care goes a long way. Here's how to look after the materials in this ring so it keeps looking its best.

    Damascus steel
    • Damascus steel gets its pattern from layers of steel forged together. Like most steels, it can discolour or rust if it's left wet.
    • Take your ring off before swimming, showering, washing up or household cleaning, and keep it away from chlorine, salt water and household chemicals.
    • If it does get wet, dry it thoroughly straight away.
    • Every so often, rub a thin layer of mineral oil into the steel with a soft cloth, then buff off the excess to help protect it.
    Natural wood
    • Wood is a natural material, so take your ring off before swimming, showering, washing up or anything that soaks your hands.
    • Keep it away from harsh chemicals and perfume.
    • Over time wood can dry out and its colour can mellow. A little beeswax wood polish every few months helps keep it nourished.
    Cleaning & everyday care

    Cleaning: wipe with a soft, dry cloth, like the cleaning cloth included with your order. Don't rinse or soak your ring, and if it does get wet, dry it straight away.

    • Swap to the silicone ring included with your order for the gym, sport and hands-on work.
    • Store your ring in its box, away from other jewellery, so nothing rubs or scratches it.
    • Put on hand cream, sunscreen and perfume before your ring, and let them dry first.
